Beyond the Western Mountains: A Novel of Erdara

Beyond the Western Mountains A Novel of ErdaraFor more than a thousand years, the people of Luxia have feared what lies beyond the western mountains. They call it the Demon Lands. They tell stories of an ancient army annihilated by iron servants, impossible weapons, and a mysterious enemy known only as Da Mon. Every child knows the warning. Every scholar knows the history.Lucan Lupus has never been very good at leaving questions alone.A thirteen-year-old werewolf with a talent for curiosity, questionable judgment, and surviving consequences that should probably teach him better, Lucan begins to notice something unsettling: The stories do not quite make sense. Then one day, he sees something rise beyond the western mountains and disappear into the sky.No magic. No explanation. And naturally, he goes looking. What Lucan finds on the other side will challenge everything Luxia believes about demons, history, magic, intelligence, and the world itself.Because sometimes the greatest danger is not what waits beyond the boundary.Sometimes it is being certain you already understand it.Beyond the Western Mountains is a fantasy and science-fiction adventure about curiosity, friendship, cultural misunderstanding, artificial intelligence, magic, and what happens when two civilizations finally meet after a thousand years of getting each other completely wrong. And, occasionally, about why saying hello can get you punched in the face.
