Blue Pete Rides the Foothills: 18

A series of brazen bank robberies is sweeping westward across the Canadian prairies, carried out by a trio of masked gunmen so disciplined they communicate in numbers. When the crimes reach the Inspector's own district-and a clerk is shot dead in cold blood-the pressure to act becomes urgent. But the Mounted Police's most reliable asset, the half-breed tracker known as Blue Pete, has vanished into the Cypress Hills without a word to anyone.Deep in the Hills, Blue Pete has stumbled onto the robbers' hidden camp-and into a tangled web of loyalty, justice, and an old wrong that has driven one man to extraordinary lengths. As the gang prepares for a final strike on Medicine Hat, Blue Pete must choose between his promise to a new friend and his duty to the Mounted Police he quietly serves-knowing that someone, on one side or the other, will not survive the reckoning.
