Roy Scheider stars in this intense action thriller. Frank Murphy (Scheider) is commissioned to test the military's latest weapon, the Blue Thunder. It is a high-tech helicopter that Frank will be very impressed. It will see through walls, hear and record whispers from afar, or design an entire block. Murphy and his partner Lyman Good (Daniel Stern) do not trust the military who made Blue Thunder. They will soon be on the immense power of the helicopter to be used as a huge weapon for surveillance and to keep an eye on the crowds. After Murphy being discovered by the evil Colonel Cochrane (Malcolm McDowell), he flies Blue Thunder against military aircraft in a battle of Los Angeles.
