Born This Way (For Real) Book 2

What you like doesn't make you what you are. Jake Calloway is twelve years old. He loves cooking - real cooking, French cooking, the kind that takes forty minutes and sometimes falls - and he recently found a dark burgundy jacket at a thrift store that fits him perfectly. His classmates have thoughts about both of those things. When the comments start adding up - cooking is a girl thing, the jacket is too feminine, maybe Jake isn't sure about himself - Jake has to figure out what he actually knows to be true. About cooking. About the jacket. About who he is. Born This Way (For Real) is a warm, funny, and honest story about a boy who discovers that breaking a mold doesn't mean losing yourself - and that being settled in who you are is the most powerful thing in the world. Perfect for: Middle school readers, Homeschool families, Boys who don't fit the mold, Parent-child book discussions, Faith-based reading groups. Book Two of the Just As I Am series.
