Both Things Are True: A Twice-Exceptional Kid's Story

Marisol "Sol" Reyes can spot patterns nobody else sees. She can explain why a bird and a rhino belong together, solve problems meant for older kids, and notice connections that stop adults in their tracks. She also loses assignments, forgets folders, freezes during timed math, and works harder than anyone realizes just to keep up.Sol has spent a long time believing only one of those things can be true. Then a new teacher, a determined friend, and a notebook full of true things begin to show her something different: being exceptionally capable and genuinely struggling aren't opposites.Sometimes both things are true. Both Things Are True is a warm, thoughtful illustrated chapter book about twice-exceptionality, executive-function challenges, friendship, self-understanding, and the relief of finally being seen clearly. For readers who have ever wondered how they can be so good at some things and have such a hard time with others.
