Burning Silence

A love affair ignites inside a lie. When investigative journalist Nora Vásquez goes undercover at Chicago's most glamorous hotel, she expects to find a story. What she doesn't expect is Marcus Vega - a former cop turned private investigator with shadows behind his eyes and reasons of his own to be there. They shouldn't trust each other. They shouldn't need each other. But inside the walls of a place that hides something monstrous beneath its polished surface, trust becomes survival and need becomes something neither of them has a word for yet. Burning Silence is a gritty, slow-burn romance thriller set against the dark heart of Chicago's criminal underworld. Two people. One target. And a fire between them that neither can afford - and neither can stop. From the first page to the last, D. R. Saenz delivers a novel that refuses to let you breathe.
