Called to Suffer contains forty-one chapters detailing many of my experiences as I stood for Christ during times of testing and hardship. There were moments when I wanted to walk away from the process, but I had to submit to the path Jesus had chosen for me, so my character would reflect His. During my season of suffering, I often questioned God's ways, but it proved futile, as when I received Him into my heart, I made Him my Lord and Saviour. My surrender gave Him total control of every area of my life. Around 2009, the Lord told me that I would suffer great things for His name's sake, as stated in Acts 9:16. "But the God of all grace, who hath called us unto his eternal glory by Christ Jesus, after that ye have suffered a while, make you perfect, stablish, strengthen, settle you," (1 Peter 5:10). Jesus gave me this Scripture, which served as a reminder that there would eventually be an end to the period of suffering I was experiencing. Many believers are afraid to suffer for Christ, so this book lets you know that it is indeed a privilege to share in His suffering. And so, chapter 41, "Farther Along," outlines some of the things God accomplished in my life up to this point because I walked in obedience and stayed the course throughout the challenging period. Included in this book are Scriptures reminding us that suffering is a mandatory component of the Christian journey, and others that highlight the rewards of suffering for Christ.
