Camp Clearwater: A queer horror story

Summer 1998. Mason arrives at Camp Clearwater with his best friend Tara to open the first LGBT camp in the region. A rough edged utopia, made of peeling bungalows and music crackling out of portable radios. Shirtless guys under the sun, salty skin, glances that meet and linger a second too long. Desire is everywhere. In the damp locker rooms. In moonlit swims by the lake.At night, the lake trembles, dark and deep, a mouth ready to swallow. Among the trees something breathes, something watches. Ancient secrets rise to the surface along with the need to touch, to possess, to feel another body pressed against your own just to remember you are alive.Mason feels desire growing alongside fear. Every attraction is a risk, every impulse an invitation to disaster. Camp Clearwater is not just a place, but a collective hunger, an organism that feeds on flesh, secrets, and repressed urges. Here, pleasure is never innocent. Bodies gleam with sweat as horror draws closer. Sex hangs in the air like a filthy, irresistible promise, ready to turn into a sentence. At Camp Clearwater, the dark watches bodies. And not everything that desires you wants you alive by dawn.
