Bol These old stories are rooted in the land and the lives and imaginations of countless generations of Cardiffian, from the Celtic Silurian tribe who fought the Romans, to the working people who dug, carried and shipped the coal that made Cardiff great, to all the people who came from around the world to make Cardiff their home. From the lush green hills of Bro Dinefwr to the coastal wetlands of Laugharn, Carmarthenshire has long been considered a heartland of South Wales. Long buried within the rugged mountains, bottomless lakes and ancient forest, such a place has a wealth of tales to unearth. Carmarthenshire Folk Tales delves into the rich folk heritage of the county and its ancient origins, from ghostly heartbreak in Carmarthen and mischievous fairy folk in forgotten woods, to long-sleeping knights and otherworldly physicians. These tales have been shaped by the land, forging their own path through the centuries to cement our connection to such a wild and ancient landscape.
