Carry Fire (2LP)

Led Zeppelin frontman Robert Plant brengt met Carry Fire zijn elfde solo album en eerste volledige album sinds lullaby and...The Ceaseless Roar uit 2014. De nummers op Carry Fire smelten ongewone ritmes samen met een natuurlijke en brandende kracht. Plant zegt zelf het volgende over het album: “It’s about intention, I respect and relish my past works but each time I feel the trawl and incentive to create new work. I must mix old with new. Consequently the whole impetus of the band has moved on its axis somewhat, the new sound and different space giving way to exciting and dramatic landscapes of mood, melody and instrumentation”.Net zoals bij lullaby wordt Plant op dit album begeleid door The Sensational Space Shifters, maar ook door een aantal special guests. Chrissie Hynde brengt het duet Bluebirds over The Mountain (geschreven door rockabilly legende Ersel Hickey en later opgenomen door zowel Richie Valens als The Beach Boys). Daarnaast speelt de Albanische cellist Redi Hasa op 3 tracks, net zoals de geroemde Seth Lakeman dat op altviool en viool doet.
