Cases from the Weird Side of Town

Kansas City in the sixties is a boomtown built on crooked politicians, straight whiskey, and ordinary people trying to make it to the next paycheck. It's also a place where strange things happen-and lately, those cases keep finding their way to the office of a certain private investigator. He's got no fancy shingle on the wall, no secretary screening calls, and no patience for ghost stories. He just wants to pay the rent and enjoy a beer in peace. But when the case turns weird-and they always do-he takes it anyway. He doesn't believe in monsters. He believes in doing the right thing. Sometimes, that's the only thing holding back the darkness.Whether it's a wealthy insomniac dreaming of murders that turn out to be real, a ten-cent kiddie ride outside a grocery store that whispers hatred to anyone who gets too close, or a lost little girl in a princess costume who might be Heaven-sent or Hell-bent, these people need help.Good thing he's got friends: Evie, a bartender who's seen it all; Bea, a librarian who knows more than the history books admit; and Benny, the one cop in town who still takes his calls.Cases from the Weird Side of Town is a collection of paranormal noir stories where the humor is dry, the danger is real, and justice comes with a bar tab that might kill you if something else doesn't first.
