This Special Issue presents current research on nano-materials and nano-composite coatings for advanced engineering applications. Recent progress in materials science has enabled the design of coatings with improved mechanical strength, wear resistance, corrosion protection, thermal stability, and multifunctional behavior. By integrating nano-scale fillers, advanced deposition routes, and tailored interfacial structures, researchers are developing surfaces that can better withstand demanding service environments in aerospace, automotive, biomedical, energy, and manufacturing sectors. The contributions collected in this Reprint highlight recent advances in synthesis, processing, characterization, and performance evaluation of nano-structured coatings and related composite systems. The included studies address topics such as tribological behavior, electromagnetic shielding, structural durability, machining performance, and coating-assisted mechanical enhancement. Together, they show how nano-scale engineering can improve surface functionality while maintaining reliability and long-term stability. This Reprint is intended to provide researchers and engineers with a concise overview of recent developments in the field and to support further innovation in the design of durable multifunctional surfaces.
