On a clear spring morning, Bryson Bender M.D. stood in a parking lot watching his medical office and Ob/Gyn practice go up in smoke and flames. Frustration, health problems, and a bullet leave him physically and emotionally burned-out. Fascinated with a possible new life without middle of the night baby deliveries, he turns his passions toward the highway. Bryson's new goal is to see the heartland of the America and to eat the perfect chicken fried steak. Teamed with a retired farmer and a shiny blue eighteen-wheeler, they set out like babes in the woods only to find that their first cargo might be their last. Tricked, lied to, attacked, hijacked, and tormented to exhaustion, they see the USA like no one else would ever want to.
