children have rights! - Do rights?: A qualitative empirical study on children's rights in primary schools

Children spend most of their time at school. They see school not only as a place to learn academic subjects, but also as a place where they learn to live together and get to know children from different backgrounds, cultures and languages. As teachers work with children on a daily basis, there is no question that both they and the children should be informed about their rights, thereby enabling a harmonious and successful social environment. The aim is to enable children to engage with the topic of 'children's rights' in a variety of ways. By listing various theoretical approaches and comparing them with empirical research, a number of methodological and didactic strategies have been outlined to facilitate the successful teaching of children's rights. The results have shown that schools are doing their utmost to guarantee the welfare of the child.
