Bol Dalton is raising money for a local family in need-and, like any reasonable small town, decides the only solution is to enter a regional chowder competition with bragging rights, judges, and the kind of rivalry that turns adults into feral sports fans. Leo Ward is the chef Dalton is counting on. He's talented, proud, and allergic to chaos... which makes him the worst possible match for Jamie Barton, the town's beloved community organizer and fundraiser lead. Jamie can rally volunteers in ten minutes flat, sweet-talk sponsors into donating anything that isn't bolted down, and read what people need before they admit it-even when the "people" in question is a guarded chef who insists he works best alone. They strike a deal: Leo controls the recipe and the kitchen. Jamie controls the logistics, the sponsorships, and the humans. But as the pressure rises and the town piles in with opinions, aprons, and a suspicious number of "helpful" taste tests, their sniping starts to sound a lot like flirting. The competition heats up, Leo's old family baggage hits a nerve, and Jamie realizes the only thing Leo fears more than losing is being pitied-and left. In Dalton, love shows up with soup, stubbornness, and a chair pulled up to the table. And when Chowder Wars day arrives, Leo and Jamie will have to decide what matters more: winning the trophy... or choosing the kind of family you don't have to be born into. A small-town romantic comedy filled with simmering pots, hotter looks, meddling locals, and the sweetest kind of victory: coming home to someone who stays.
