Christianity and the Ndali: A Study in Inculturation of Gospel Northern Malawi

Godwins Lwinga initially read Theology and Mass Communication at African Bible College (ABC) in Lilongwe. He has lectured in Media Studies at the Malawi Institute of Journalism, Islamic Philosophy at Domasi College of Education, and Philosophy and Theology at Mzuzu University (2016 to 2023). He currently lectures at the University of Livingstonia. He holds two Master's degrees from Mzuzu University (2013) and Evangelische Theologische Faculteit (2018). In 2023, he received a PhD from Evangelische Theologische Faculteit in Leuven, Belgium. He also holds a University Certificate of Education from the University of Livingstonia. In 2009, he received a radio broadcasting certificate from the Media Institute for African Broadcasters in Cairo, Egypt. His research interests are in Dietrich Bonhoeffer's ethics and corruption. The Gospel can find a home in every culture, so why not among the Ndali who live in Northern Malawi and across the border in Tanzania. Godwins Lwinga shows that in Undali, like in most of Malawi, the process of inculturation largely went the "mainline" way. Worth studying is how this inculturation worked out without the Bible in the Ndali language. Connecting to the wider picture is the fact that Fr.
