Civil Society Organisations, Climate Change and Local Communities: A collection of academic publications

This volume comprises two academic papers. They form part of a comprehensive evaluation study of the implementation of environmental policy in Madagascar. The first paper, entitled 'The Roles and Place of Civil Society in the Implementation of Environmental Policy: The Case of Associations and NGOs in Haute Matsiatra', provides an in-depth analysis of the organisations' activities in the environmental sector. The second publication is a collection of papers from the international symposium entitled 'Rural Development in the Face of Climate Change', organised by the Higher School of Agronomic Sciences at the University of Antananarivo on 26-27 September 2017. It is entitled 'Manifestations of Climate Change and Public Reactions: The Case of Haute Matsiatra' and presents the results of analyses of meteorological data over the last thirty years, as well as the findings of a sociological study reflecting the public's reactions to climate change.
