This book is part of the national debates on full-time education policy, which has been implemented through the Mais Educação (More Education) Programme in Brazil since 2007. The discourses that this policy carries about the young people it serves and the discourses of the social actors involved are problematised. In this line of investigation, the concepts of full-time education and youth, based on a critical analysis of the official discourse and the discourses of the social actors involved, served as the basis for the analysis, which expressed the difficulties and benefits of the programme, leading us to recommend the promotion of actions towards collective pedagogical work with young people and not just for them.
