Confessions of a Battered Woman is a true story of how the author, Emily Johnson, grew up in an abusive home; And following the cycle of abuse, she married a man who beat and battered her. After he unsuccessfully tried to murder her, Emily devised a plan to leave with her two small children and escape to California almost forty years ago.In today's society domestic violence is still the leading cause of injury to females.
