"Consider This", before your psychiatry appointment.

These are my collected thoughts as a medical provider that I try to share with all my patients during our visits. Our visits and time together is too short. We are all at different stages when trying to approach mental health challenges. Some people are just beginning and many are seasoned travelers on the journey. Some of this information may seem like you already knew it, and, hopefully, some it may be new and the information that you were looking for. This is not a diagnostic guide to figure out was is wrong with you and is not meant to be taken as medical advice, but it is good information that might help you along the way, especially if you are just starting out. This should not sound like a text book, but I have to acknowledge that when trying to be concise about medical knowledge, sometimes the material can seem dense. I try to keep it light hearted, to include humor and perspective, and more than anything I try to include my heartfelt intention that you are not alone in this life journey.
