Bol The research focused on the continuing education of teacher trainers at one of the fifteen Training Centres in the state of Mato Grosso. The objective was to investigate how the training process is structured, with an emphasis on the construction of professional knowledge by teacher trainers. The study considered the continuing education project currently in progress and included trainers as research subjects. Data were collected through interviews and analysed using theoretical arguments that include the debate on continuing education for teachers in the discussion of public policies for education, based on the assumption that continuing education is part of educational reforms in Brazil. We sought to understand the training process in different dimensions and contexts, with various theoretical bases. We consider that Cefapro's continuing education, as a participatory proposal in the training space for the construction of professional knowledge by trainers, faces the challenge of meeting educational policy, moving beyond the limitations it places on practices committed to the transformation of society.
