Bol This is a collection of anecdotes about many subjects, including children, music, and money. A sample: Jacques Tati's comedy movie M. Hulot's Holiday was a critical, popular, and financial success, and USAmerican financiers became interested in getting in on the action and so they arranged to have dinner with Mr. Tati. The USAmerican businessmen ordered huge steaks and stuffed themselves for an hour without speaking a word. Finally, they wanted to talk business to Mr. Tati, who told them, "Not until you've finished what's on your plate!" (They choose not to finance his next movie.) Mr. Tati's next M. Hulot movie was Mon oncle, which won a Special Jury Prize (Prix Spécial du jury) at the Cannes Film Festival and was awarded the Academy Award for the Best Foreign Film of 1958. Mr. Tati went to Hollywood for the Academy Awards ceremony, and the Academy was very willing to give him pretty much anything that he wanted. Mr. Tati chose to visit the aged silent film comedians Buster Keaton, Stan Laurel, and Mack Sennet at their nursing homes.
