Cost savings in pharmaceutical market research: opportunities research through an online programme the physician panel

The development of a software programme for the use of patient data by market researchers is described and analysed in detail in the paper 'Cost-saving opportunities in pharmaceutical market research through a software programme in the physician panel'. The focus here is on the German market. A comparison with active recruitment and the IMS Health database shows the recruitment opportunities currently available on the market. The theses put forward are substantiated by interview questionnaires developed and evaluated by the author. However, the main objective is to determine whether market researchers and doctors are interested in and need a software programme. In the further course of the thesis, the programme is developed as an example and named Pharmaceuticals Data Collector and Researcher (PDCR). In addition, the data protection principles are clarified, as well as the possible opportunities and risks of the programme and its cost-saving potential.
