Course: Banking and the management of financial institutions

In a complex environment, banks face many questions: what methods do they use to manage their risks?How can they be confident enough to grant loans?This study focuses on the concept of banking risk in general, and credit risk in particular. This threat affects all banks, and is extremely serious as it jeopardizes their very survival.At present, banks are finding it difficult to lend money to their customers because of the risk of non-repayment. As a result, they need to obtain collateral to protect themselves.To manage credit risk, banks need to identify and assess risks in order to analyze their investment portfolios. Each bank has its own strategy and management procedures for dealing with these issues. This course is divided into three sections:- The first chapter: "Banking in general";- Chapter two: "Types of banking risk";- The third chapter: "Prudential regulation as a management tool for dealing with banking risks".
