Criminal protection of minors in cyberspace Cameroon

In a context marked by the resurgence of cybercrime, research into the protection of minors makes perfect sense. Indeed, far from having fallen into disuse, the issue of the protection of minors is becoming more topical with the recent opening of a field of analysis dedicated to examining the relationship between criminal law and cyberspace. Vulnerable in essence, minors have always occupied a special place in criminal policy in the world in general and in Cameroon in particular. Law no. 2023/009 of July 25, 2023, which lays down a charter for the protection of children online in Cameroon, seems to confirm this idea. This special law supplements a pre-existing general legal protection framework. Although it can be inferred from the title of this new law alone that the objective of protecting minors presides over its destiny, we can't help but scrutinize it. Hence the central question of guarantees of effectiveness. At the end of this scientific operation, we arrive at an answer that is, at the very least, relative: if the spirit, notably the objective of protecting minors, inscribed on the pediment of the aforementioned law, is to be respected, then the law's effectiveness must be guaranteed.
