In the wake of financial and economic crises, and in response to the scarcity of traditional funding sources, crowdfunding has emerged as an alternative form of financing. In crowdfunding, projects are supported collectively via online platforms. On some platforms, this principle is being applied to urban and neighbourhood development projects.
