Creativity is the ability of man to create his world creatively, to respond to the demands of life by creating something new. The small child, the human being in his everyday life, the artist or scientist, all react to deficiencies, absences, internal conflicts, threats to their psychological integrity with the creative production of symbols, ideas, works. The creative process usually goes through a crisis and comprises various stages until it comes to a solution in which then often threatening internal forces are better integrated again. In their emotional depth, even superficial productions without reference to unconscious processes differ from emotionally more saturated, in the common sense creative creations.
