This book is based on the use of finite element method for prediction of deflection and settlement of any tunnelling project. For finite element analysis PLAXIS 2D method is adopted for the calculation and result output of tunnel for assessing its future settlement. For PLAXIS 2D result output the method of stress relaxation is implemented, this method can produce the more sophisticated result in compare of any other finite element method. The validation of proposed study work is done by settlement analysis carried out on the case studies for single tunnel as well as case study for twin tunnel by empirical method in terms of the Gaussian curve plot for volume loss analysis.
