DEVELOPMENT OF BIGINELLI REACTION USING DES: Choline Chloride: L Proline

The book presented herein has successfully demonstrated the efficacy of deep eutectic solvents (DES) in the multicomponent synthesis of dihydropyrimidinones. The unique physicochemical properties of DES, particularly their capacity to act as both solvent and catalyst, have significantly expedited the reaction process. This has resulted in a notable reduction in reaction time compared to conventional methods. Furthermore, the post-reaction recyclability of DES highlights its contribution to sustainable chemistry practices. The ability to recover and reuse DES without a decline in performance or yield is a compelling argument for their continued use and development in the field of organic synthesis. This study not only reinforces the versatility of DES in facilitating multicomponent reactions but also underscores their potential in enhancing the environmental friendliness of chemical processes.
