Today in Hungary, roughly every fourth person struggles with a psychiatric problem. A significant part of society still does not accept patients today, and there are those who struggle with even more severe problems. Due to the closure of previously operating psychiatric wards, their opportunities have narrowed, and they are increasingly appearing in the social care system. The goal of community psychiatric care is to prevent permanent placement in medical and social institutions, as well as to facilitate rehabilitation. We help them reintegrate into society, cope with everyday life, and take on employment. The writing approaches the patients from a social perspective. The book also covers the history and legal background of community psychiatric care, assesses the service operating in the given institution through a brief research study, and seeks answers for development opportunities.
