Urinary tract infections (UTIs) remain among the most frequent infectious conditions encountered in clinical practice, in both outpatient and inpatient settings. Their high frequency, clinical diversity - ranging from simple cystitis to complicated acute pyelonephritis or healthcare-associated UTIs - and the growing impact of antibiotic resistance make them a major medical and health issue.
