'Property Damage - Criminalized Triviality or Underestimated Injustice?': Property damage according to §§ 303 ff. StGB as the potentially most intense material impairment is wrongly given a trivial image. Neither its historical development nor comparisons with other property offenses can explain where this image comes from. Therefore, this work concludes that property damage is not only justifiably punishable as is but also shows potential for reform. These various ideas for reform are first discussed and then respectively elaborated as codification proposals.
