Occlusion plays a vital role in maintaining the function and health of the stomatognathic system. Accurate evaluation of occlusal contacts is essential for the diagnosis and treatment of restorative, prosthodontic, orthodontic, and implant cases. Temporomandibular disorders are multifactorial conditions affecting the temporomandibular joints, masticatory muscles, and associated structures, often leading to pain and functional impairment. Conventional methods of occlusal assessment are simple but provide only qualitative and subjective information. These digital methods provide accurate, reproducible, and quantitative data on occlusal contacts and mandibular function. They enhance diagnosis, treatment planning, and monitoring of patients with occlusal discrepancies and TMDs. Therefore, digital technologies have become valuable adjuncts in contemporary prosthodontics, enabling evidence-based and patient-centered clinical care.
