Disaster Management: An overview of logistics and infrastructure

The United Nations defines a disaster as a disruption to the functioning of a community or society. Such disruptions can affect people, nature, the economy or the environment to such an extent that they are no longer able to manage their resources on their own. As a result, disaster management has become an increasingly important profession. The frequency of such situations has increased dramatically. For this reason, both NGOs and governments must make greater efforts towards efficient disaster management in order to effectively counteract this change. The aim of this book is to provide an overview of the scope of disaster management. To this end, the work of NGOs, as well as the topics of logistics and infrastructure, have been examined in greater detail.
