DO NOT ANSWER AT 11:59

Thirty years ago, Claire Vale's eight-year-old sister vanished on Halloween. Tonight, she knocks. She is still eight. Claire returns to Morrowfield with her eleven-year-old daughter, Wren, to empty their dead mother's house before Halloween ends. The girl at the door wears Lila's handmade moth costume, carries her dented orange candy pail, and knows what only Lila could know. Claire lets her in. Then Wren begins disappearing - from photographs, records, possessions, and finally from the memories of everyone who loves her. Everyone except Claire. Across Morrowfield, thirteen burnt-orange porch lights begin to glow. A hallway clock dead since 1996 starts moving toward 12:13 a.m. And the town begins remembering children it once agreed to forget. Claire has thirteen minutes to uncover what happened the night Lila vanished, what her mother traded away, and why the bargain has returned for Wren. Some doors keep danger out. Some keep the truth in. At 11:59, do not answer.
