Doc UpChurch and "Hairy Trigger" A Legend of Wilson Rock The Arkansas River by G M Barber

This book was written from the memories of Doc Upchurch, who was a long-time family friend. I began writing the manuscript in 1993 by using an electric typewriter, but lay the work aside until recently. With the use of my Dell PC and Microsoft Word I decided to finish the manuscript and share these stories about Doc or they would be lost forever. I do not have a college degree but am a 1955 high school graduate from Gans High School, Gans, Oklahoma. In 1984 I enrolled at the Indian Capitol Technology Center in Sallisaw, Oklahoma for a business course. Each student's weekly assignment was to write and spell fifty business words, then write a paragraph with each word. One morning before class begin the instructor, Mrs. Margie Walters, called me to her desk, then softly said, "Gertie, have you ever thought about writing a book"? I told her no but never forgot the encouragement. I am a member of the Cherokee Nation of Oklahoma.
