The book is devoted to the study of the history of F.M. Dostoevsky's collaboration with V.V. Kashpirev's literary magazine "Zarya," as well as the reconstruction of the hitherto unknown publishing history of the edition. Dostoevsky had high hopes for "Zarya" and perceived it as a continuation of the line that he and his brother Mikhail had defended in "Vremya" and "Epokha." The book is essentially the first comprehensive scientific analysis of Dostoevsky's collaboration with Kashpirev's magazine. It reveals the writer's journalistic potential and allows for a deeper understanding of his ideological views, while also demonstrating the confrontation between various directions in the context of Russian journalism in the second half of the 19th century.
