Drahla Angeltape (CD)

Angeltape is the second full-length album by Leeds-based band Drahla, released in 2024. It is rooted in a jagged, atmospheric post punk and art rock aesthetic, marked by angular guitars, taut rhythms and an experimental edge that pushes beyond conventional song structures. The record captures a period of transition and emotional intensity for the group, channelling grief, uncertainty and identity shifts into a sound that is both icy and visceral. This edition appears as an LP on coloured vinyl, underlining its appeal to collectors and listeners who value physical, visually distinctive formats.Across its concise runtime, Angeltape balances abrasive textures with a strong sense of mood and detail, weaving in avant garde flourishes and off-kilter harmonies that feel both cerebral and instinctive. The production foregrounds the interplay between guitars, bass, and percussion, giving the album a live-wire energy while maintaining a carefully sculpted, artful atmosphere. As a coloured vinyl LP release, it situates Drahla firmly within the contemporary post punk and indie alternative landscape, while retaining a singular, introspective voice that sets the band apart.
