Dream River

Stirring, haunting, and just, Dream River follows the bonds of a family heritage through a generation. Sam, a young teen growing up in the South, suffers an unexpected tragedy that befalls his family and touches the community in ways not fully understood. After years of a prolonged absence, his father returns home to resurrect his former life and to find understanding by regaining his family's love and forgiveness. His father copes with alcoholism, a misunderstood murder, and demons from the past with war-torn memories difficult to resolve. Created inside a 1960s community, this story associates political and racial tensions which are unjust, divisive, and corrupt. However, when a few men's words rise above the others, the unmitigated truth finds justice and redeems those that are forever moved by its force. This is a suspenseful interpretation of death, division, anguish, and redemption, with an honest heart and a meaningful account of people's lives. For historical fiction lovers, Dream River is a reckoning of its time.
