Drought: Book 6 of The Woodland Series

A spring drought grips the woodlands of Mt. Shaw, and the animals must work together to find a solution before their water sources disappear.A spring drought has settled over Woodlands, New Hampshire. With little winter snow and not enough spring rain, familiar water sources are disappearing and the animals of Mt. Shaw are beginning to feel the effects. The Woodlands Home Range Council must act. Riley, an eastern chipmunk, is chosen for an important assignment, and Digger - an expert excavator - is ready to help. Their search for answers takes them to the Riparian Forest, where they meet Alder the Elder and a family of beavers whose natural abilities may offer an unexpected solution. Chipmunks and beavers have very different skills, but solving the growing water problem will require cooperation. By observing the landscape, sharing what they know and putting their natural abilities to work, the animals discover what can happen when different members of the woodland community work toward a common goal. Drought, Book 6 of The Woodland Series, is a family-friendly woodland adventure that introduces young readers to drought, water, wildlife habitats and the remarkable ways animals adapt to changes in the natural world.
