Earths in Our Solar System Which are Called Planets and the Starry Heaven Their Inhabitants, Spirits Angels There From Things Heard Seen

A remarkable theological vision of the universe as a living, inhabited creation. In Earths in Our Solar System Which Are Called Planets and Earths in the Starry Heaven Their Inhabitants, and the Spirits and Angels There by Emanuel Swedenborg, the author presents a series of accounts describing the spiritual and human inhabitants of the planets within our solar system, as well as worlds beyond the visible heavens. Drawing on what he describes as firsthand spiritual experiences, Swedenborg offers detailed portrayals of the character, customs, and spiritual conditions of these distant beings.Rather than treating the cosmos as empty or lifeless, the work proposes a universe filled with inhabited "earths," each forming part of a greater divine order. Swedenborg connects these accounts to a broader theological framework, suggesting that all worlds-material and spiritual alike-are linked through their relationship to the Divine and contribute to the fullness of creation.Alongside descriptions of planetary inhabitants, the text explores the roles of spirits and angels, presenting a hierarchical vision of existence in which the spiritual realm interacts with and influences the natural world. Throughout, Swedenborg seeks to illustrate how life beyond Earth reflects deeper spiritual truths and the universal reach of divine purpose.Part visionary narrative, part theological reflection, this work offers a distinctive and influential perspective on the nature of the cosmos-one in which the physical and spiritual are inseparably joined.
