East Africa Financial System

Mugerwa Paul was born on 27th September 1983 to Mr. & Mrs. Paul Mukisa Ssali of Bunamwaya - Wakiso District, Uganda. He is a financial economist with specialty in: Investment/ Wealth management; Sustainability/ ESG Frameworks & Climate Finance; Anti-Financial Crime; and, Tax & Fiscal systems. He is a scholar in financial systems and regional financial integration. He is a resource person to numerous regional and global research and training institutes that are building capacity for financial services industry, private and public sector, regulatory bodies. He has a passion in capacity building and he has extensively done assignments across the Sub-Saharan Africa (Eastern, Central and Southern Africa; Francophone West Africa) - along with development finance institutions. He is multi-lingual - speaking a couple of languages - regional and international. He is happily married to Mrs. Rebecca Nakisozi Mugerwa. He is a proud dad to Gracia, Gentil and Pearl. This publication discusses all major constituents in the financial system in a flexible order that accommodates the needs of different stakeholders: financial sector players and regulators, regional integration policymakers, training and academics, financial systems scholars, investing community, and other readers who often approach the financial system from unique perspectives.
