Economic ANALYSIS of PRODUCTION & Marketing Okra in Middle GUJARAT: An Study Cost Structure, Resource Use Efficiency and Systems Gujarat

This study analyzes the economics of production and marketing of okra in Middle Gujarat with a focus on cost structure, returns, and efficiency. It estimates the cost of cultivation and profitability across different farm sizes and examines the input-output relationship to assess economic viability. The study applies production function analysis to evaluate resource use efficiency and identify key factors influencing productivity. It also investigates existing marketing channels, marketing costs, margins, and price spread to determine marketing efficiency and the share of producers in the consumer's rupee. Additionally, the study identifies major production and marketing constraints faced by farmers, such as high input costs, labour scarcity, price instability, and limited access to efficient markets. The findings aim to support better resource allocation, improve farm profitability, and provide useful insights for policy formulation and agricultural planning in the region.
