Education is Broken

The debate about Al and work keeps reaching for the same answer: more training. This book argues that the answer is wrong - or at least far too small. As intelligence becomes cheaper, human judgment and agency must become stronger. Yet our institutions of learning - universities and corporate L&D alike - are built to certify recall and deliver content, not to develop the capacity to navigate a working life that keeps changing. Education is Broken sets out five commitments for education worth the name: judgment over recall, agency before access, navigating lives rather than just jobs, institutions that answer to power realities, and trade-offs made explicit. It measures higher education and corporate learning against them-and closes with three futures for work and learning: Drift, Platform World, and Redesign. They are choices, not predictions. This book is an argument for choosing.
