Educational landscapes as an opportunity: the 'Action Plan for Schools and World of Work' to improve readiness vocational training employability

Due to social and political changes, as well as ongoing technological developments and increasing globalisation, the world we live in has changed significantly over the last 30 years. As a result, the educational requirements and qualifications expected of today's job applicants have risen. Some of those under 25 appear to be particularly unable to meet the requirements for vocational qualifications and, due to their low level of qualifications, are unable to find a standard apprenticeship or job. Educational landscapes are intended to identify potential solutions to facilitate a smoother transition from school to the world of work. Various concepts of educational landscapes will be outlined here. Using the 'School and the World of Work' action plan in Schleswig-Holstein as an example, a concrete implementation of an educational landscape will be presented.
