Effect of Isostretching on the treatment Chronic Low Back Pain: Controlled, randomised clinical trial

Chronic low back pain is defined as a painful disorder located between the first and fifth lumbar vertebrae. It is considered a major public health problem, with approximately 10 million people in Brazil incapacitated as a result of this condition and at least 70% of the population suffering or experiencing at least one episode of pain throughout their lives. Low back pain can be treated clinically by Isostretching, which provides flexibility and strengthens the muscles, improving postural control through antagonist contraction exercises and isometric stretching of agonist muscles. The Isostretching method, created by Frenchman Bernard Redondo, is used in the clinical practice of physiotherapists, but has little evidence in scientific research. This study demonstrates that this method can be an effective and low-cost tool in the treatment of chronic low back pain.
