Effect Of Plant Growth Regulators On Growth, Yield Quality Tomato

A field experiment entitled "Effect of plant growth regulators on growth yield and quality of Tomato (lycopersicon esculentum Mill.)" was conducted at the Horticulture Garden of the Department of Horticulture, CS Azad University of Agriculture & Technology, Kanpur in the year of 2016-17. Ten treatments in each replication consisting of three levels of each growth regulator i.e. GA3 at 10, 20, 30 ppm, NAA at 20, 30, 40 ppm and 2,4D at 2.5, 5.0, 7.5 ppm along with a control were trial. The experiment was laid out in a Randomized Block Design. Objectives of the investigation tomato variety Azad T-6 was sown in the 1st October month, the 28 days old seedlings were transplanted in well ploughed field followed by light irrigation just after transplanting of the tomato seedlings. Proper concentration of PGR for desired solution sprayed over the tomato crop. Careful observations were taken morphological as well as maturity parameters like height of plant, number of primary and secondary branches, number of fruit per plant, TSS and diameter of fruit, yield of fruits per plot etc. was recorded.
