The third installment of Solvej Balle's ambitious narrative project, in which the time loop opens up to the possibility of community and collective action... Tara Selter is no longer alone. After living through the same November 18th more than a thousand times -- repeating over and over in a time loop from which there seems to be no escape, and of which she alone appears to be aware -- something finally happens. An anomaly. A small change that, nonetheless, may represent a giant leap: the color of a man's shirt changes. It shifts from green to blue. That man is named Henry Dale, and Tara soon discovers that he, too, is trapped in an eternal present -- that he, too, remembers. Now, they can share the experience and the bewilderment, even though their ways of coping with the situation are vastly different. Moreover, their encounter opens the door to another possibility: that there may be others like them... In this new piece of her literary mosaic, the author continues to employ science fiction to pose deeply human questions regarding our relationship with time, with solitude, and with our fellow human beings -- questions about fear and love, and about the longings and anxieties that serve as the driving forces of our existence. The result is a saga as enigmatic as it is fascinating.
