ELEVEN PIECES OF HER

Eleven bags. Three disposal sites. One woman who refused to disappear quietly. In the summer of 2003, GBI Special Agent Mara Quinn is called to a rural Georgia roadside where black contractor bags have been found in the kudzu. The victim is Caroline Vale-a lounge singer, a mother, and a woman who kept records of everything.Across Atlanta, Rebecca Mercer is pregnant with her second child and trying to ignore the anonymous caller who insists she does not know her own husband. Daniel Mercer is patient, attentive, and endlessly reasonable. He has an explanation for every call, every absence, every unease. Then Caroline's voice survives her.As Quinn follows the evidence and Rebecca begins to question the story she has been living inside, a murder investigation becomes something far more intimate: a study of coercive control, complicity, and the dangerous distance between what happened and what someone can make you believe happened.Inspired in part by a 1993 Malaysian criminal case, Eleven Pieces of Her is a dark psychological thriller about two women separated by a lie-and the evidence one of them leaves behind.
