Bol Nezu Press presents an anthology of thirty-two tales of Egyptian mummies originally published between 1827 and 1939, half of which were written by female authors, and a third of which have not been republished since they first appeared in print. Alongside stories by well-known writers, such as Arthur Conan Doyle's 'Lot No. 429', Guy Boothby's 'A Professor of Egyptology', and H. Rider Haggard's 'Smith and the Pharaohs', there are a number of tales by forgotten authors, such as Jane G. Austin's 'After Three Thousand Years', Eva M. Henry's 'The Curse of Vasartas', Florence Carpenter Dieudonné's 'Xartella', and Hester White's 'The Dead Hand'. Illustrated with forty black-and-white images, some of which accompanied the stories when they were first published, this volume also includes a 29-page introductory essay by Gina R. Collia: 'Cure Me, Thrill Me, Kill Me! The Mummy: From Magical Cure to Murderous Curse'.
